Adults who are 65 years of age and older.
Children under 18 years of age are eligible for coverage.
Adults who possess a federally valid Disability Tax Credit certificate are also eligible.
Canadians aged 18 to 64 without dental insurance are also eligible to apply as of May 2025.

How Much Coverage Can You Receive Under the Canada Dental Care Plan?

The extent of coverage provided by the Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is determined by your family’s income. To figure out co-payments, find your adjusted family net income on the chart below:

If the income is less than $70,000: 100% coverage of the eligible cost according to the established fee; your share of the cost is 0%.
If the income is between $70,000-$79,999: 60% coverage of the eligible cost according to the established fee; your share of the cost is 40%.
If the income is between $80,000-$89,999: 40% coverage of the eligible cost according to the established fee; your share of the cost is 60%.

Your co-payment is always calculated based on your adjusted family net income. If your dentist charges more than the established fee of the Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP), or if you receive services that are not covered by the CDCP, you will be liable for those additional costs.

How to Apply for the Canada Dental Care Plan

Get Your Code: If you are eligible, you will be sent a code for your application and will receive instructions, either via mail or e-mail.
